Public Beta

What “beta” means here

What works today, what is switched off, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

The platform is complete enough to show you and not yet finished enough to call launched. You may meet a rough edge, a feature that is switched off, or copy that changes from one week to the next. We would rather you saw the real thing early than a polished promise late. The full picture is on our Public Beta page.
Not yet. Real bookings and payments are switched off during Public Beta: you can search, compare fares and see exactly what a trip would cost, but the “continue to book” step is disabled and no card can be charged. Nothing you do during Public Beta creates an airline reservation. See what Public Beta means.
During Public Beta the fares you see come from our test flight-data environment: real routes and realistic prices, but not live airline inventory. They can differ from what an airline is selling right now, and they are not a quote. The day live inventory is switched on, this answer changes with it.
Email support@farevia.co — the Public Beta page has pre-addressed links for a problem report and for general feedback. Helpful to include: the page address, your device and browser, and the time it happened. Please never send passport numbers, card details or passwords by email; we will never ask for them.

Searching

Finding flights

How a search works, how results are ranked, and why we ask what we ask.

Type a city, airport or three-letter code in From and To, pick your dates, choose your travellers and cabin, and search. Switch between round trip and one way at the top of the form. Not sure where to go? Choose “Everywhere” as the destination to browse destinations by fare from your city.
Cheapest sorts by the total price including taxes and our fee. Fastest sorts by total journey time, door to door, with flights whose duration the provider did not state placed last. Best value sorts by price per hour of travel. Recommended is our own ranking, driven only by price, duration, stops, baggage, flexibility and provider reliability — never by who pays us, because nobody does: placement in your results is not for sale.
Airlines price children by age, and some fares and seat rules depend on it. A search is only honest once every child’s age is chosen, so we ask rather than guess — a guessed age would show you a price that is not the price.
Always the local time at that airport: a departure is shown in the origin’s local time and an arrival in the destination’s local time, exactly as printed on a boarding pass. We never convert times to the time zone of the device you are browsing from.
The flight providers we query returned no fares for that route on that date. During Public Beta the test flight-data environment covers fewer routes than live inventory will, so a quiet route is more common than it will be at launch. Try a major city pair or nearby dates. Not every airline sells through every provider, so we never claim to show every flight that exists.

Prices & fees

What you pay

The founding rule: the first price you see is the price you pay.

Yes — that is the founding rule of Farevia. Every price in search results already includes the airline fare, taxes and our service fee. The number you click is the number you would be charged. Seats and optional extras you add later are itemized before payment, never after.
A single service fee, disclosed on every fare from the first search result. We never mark fares up silently and we never sell placement in your results.
The fare’s own currency, shown with the total before you confirm. Your bank may apply its own conversion rate and fee if that currency differs from your card’s — that part is between you and your bank.
Airline fares can change or sell out at any moment. If a fare moves before you pay, we stop and show you the new total first — we never quietly charge more than the price you were shown.

Booking & passengers

Making a booking

Accounts, passenger details, documents and extras.

No. You can book as a guest and manage everything later with your booking reference and last name under Manage booking. An account adds convenience — all your trips in one place and saved travellers — but it is never required.
Each traveller’s name exactly as it appears on the travel document they will fly with, their date of birth, and contact details for the booking. Passport details are requested only when the fare you chose requires identity documents — the airline decides that, and we ask only then.
Airlines may deny boarding when the name on the ticket does not match the travel document, and the costs that follow are outside Farevia’s control. That is why we ask you to check every name before you confirm. Spotted a typo after booking? Contact us as soon as you can — minor corrections are often possible, and we will work the fare rules on your behalf.
Where the airline sells them for your fare, seats and extra checked bags appear in the Seats and Extras steps, each with its price, and nothing is added without your explicit selection. Where the airline does not offer them through our providers, we say so instead of guessing.
Your Farevia booking reference identifies your booking with us — use it with your last name under Manage booking. The airline booking reference (PNR, or record locator) identifies the same reservation in the airline’s own system — use it on the airline’s website or app to check in and manage seats there. Both are on your confirmation and your receipt.

Payments

Paying with confidence

Card security, accepted methods, and when you are charged.

Your card details never touch Farevia’s servers: they are entered in our payment processor’s own secure payment form and go directly to the processor. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment before it is accepted.
When bookings open: major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard and American Express. During Public Beta no payment method is active, because no payment is taken.
During Public Beta no payment is taken at all — the payment step cannot be reached. When bookings open, your card is charged only at the final step, after you confirm, for exactly the total shown; if a ticket cannot be issued after your payment, the payment is refunded.

Changes, cancellations & refunds

When plans change

Every fare carries its own rules. We show them before you buy and again before you cancel.

Go to Manage booking, find your trip with your booking reference and last name, and choose Cancel. Each fare’s rules — refundable or not, changeable or not, and any fee — are shown on the fare before you buy and again before you confirm a cancellation. When the fare rules allow a refund, we initiate it to your original payment method as soon as the cancellation is confirmed; a non-refundable fare stays non-refundable.
We initiate a refund the moment your cancellation is confirmed. How quickly it appears on your statement is then up to your card issuer; banks typically post refunds within 5–10 business days, and some take longer. The refund goes back to the original payment method only.
Whether a fare can be changed, and at what fee, is set by its fare rules, which are shown before you buy. If your fare allows changes, contact us with your booking reference and we will work the fare rules with the airline on your behalf; a change may involve a fare difference as well as any change fee the rules state.
Airline-initiated schedule changes and cancellations are governed by the airline’s own policies and the passenger-rights law that applies to your journey. We will tell you what the airline has offered, help you exercise the rights you have, and process any refund the airline authorises. We do not promise outcomes the airline or the law does not provide.

Travel day

At the airport

Check-in, boarding passes, baggage and documents.

Your boarding pass is issued by the airline when you check in — use the airline booking reference (PNR) from your confirmation email on the airline’s website or app, usually from 24 to 48 hours before departure depending on the airline. Farevia does not issue boarding passes; your Farevia confirmation and receipt hold the rest of your trip details.
Every fare shows its own baggage allowance — carry-on and checked — read from the airline’s data, before you buy and again on the review screen. Allowances differ by airline and by fare, so we show what that specific fare includes rather than a general rule. When the airline does not state an allowance, we say so rather than guess.
Entry requirements depend on your nationality, your destination and sometimes your transit points, and they change. Check the official government travel site of your destination before booking and again before flying. Farevia cannot verify entry requirements for you.

Farevia Trip Pass

Your whole trip, one pass

A travel-day pass built from your real booking — and what it deliberately is not.

A pass for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet that puts your trip at a glance on your phone: route, travel date, local departure time, traveller, flight, cabin and — if you chose one — your seat. The back carries your Farevia booking reference, the airline’s PNR, your fare brand, check-in guidance, a live flight-status link and support details. Every traveller on a booking gets their own pass.
No. The airline issues your boarding pass at check-in, and the Trip Pass tells you where to get it. Because it is not scanned at the gate, the Trip Pass carries no barcode, and it never shows a gate, terminal or boarding time — the airline assigns those, and we do not invent them.
Passes are issued with confirmed bookings, so none are issued during Public Beta. The confirmation page will offer “Add to Apple Wallet” or “Add to Google Wallet” — matched to the phone you are using, one pass per traveller — once bookings open.
No. Pass links are one-time tokens bound to your booking and to each traveller, and the confirmation page asks you to verify your booking before any pass is created. A forwarded email cannot mint a pass.
